Marianne Paruch, BSN, MBA serves on the IAC Cardiac Electrophysiology Board of Directors as a representative of the Heart Rhythm Society (HRS).

Walid Saliba, MD, FHRS serves as Immediate Past-President on the IAC Cardiac Electrophysiology Board of Directors as a representative of the Heart Rhythm Society (HRS). Dr. Saliba is currently a staff cardiologist in the Section of Cardiac Electrophysiology and Pacing in the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at Cleveland Clinic, the Medical Director of the EP lab and Director of the Atrial Fibrillation Center. He is trained in all aspects of clinical cardiac electrophysiology and pacing, including catheter ablation, implantation of cardiac pacemakers and defibrillators and extraction of implanted pacemaker and ICD leads using laser technology. A native of Lebanon, Dr. Saliba earned both his undergraduate and medical degrees at the American University of Beirut. He then moved to the United States where he completed an internship and residency program in internal medicine at Duke University and a fellowship in cardiology at Baylor College. The Cleveland Clinic awarded him a fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology and he was appointed to the Cleveland Clinic as a staff cardiac electrophysiologist in 1999. Dr. Saliba’s research has focused on topics related to new treatments of atrial fibrillation and pericardial ablation. Fluent in English, French and Arabic, he has been a guest lecturer and authored or co-authored articles in numerous leading scientific journals. Additionally, Dr. Saliba is a member of the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and a fellow of the HRS.

Gerald Serwer, MD, FHRS, FACC, FAAP serves on the IAC Cardiac Electrophysiology Board of Directors as a representative of the Heart Rhythm Society (HRS). Dr. Serwer is a Professor Emeritus of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Cardiology at the University of Michigan Health System in Ann Arbor, MI. He received his medical degree from Duke University Medical School. He completed an internship and residency in pediatrics and a fellowship in the Division of Pediatric Cardiology at Duke Hospital in Durham, NC. He reviews articles for Circulation, Journal of Pediatrics, Pediatrics, Pediatric Cardiology, American Journal of Cardiology, Journal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, P.A.C.E., and American Heart Journal. Additionally, Dr. Serwer has been a meeting moderator for prestigious conferences throughout the years. Dr. Serwer has consulted for Medtronic, Inc., Member Physicians Advisory Board, Intermedics, Inc., Pacemaker Clinical Trials, PhysioControl, Inc., external pediatric pacing trials, IBM, and Siemens(Aucson), Inc. Echocardiography PACs system evaluation. He has been the Medical Director for PALS for Life Support Services and Michigan Medicine. Dr. Serwer was a recipient of the American Academy Pediatric Cardiology Section’s Young Investigators Award and the North Carolina Heart Association’s Founders Award and Achievement Recognition Award. In addition to HRS, he is a member of several professional societies including the American Heart Association (AHA), and Society of Pediatric Echocardiography (SOPE) and is a fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society, American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the American College of Cardiology (ACC). He is an influential member of national committees, like Health Informatics Task Force of the ACC and HRS and is the prior co-chair of the Cardiology Domain Planning Committee of IHE.

Frank J. Zimmerman, MD serves as President-Elect on the IAC Cardiac Electrophysiology Board of Directors as a representative of the Pediatric and Congenital Electrophysiology Society (PACES).

John F. Beshai, MD, FHRS, FACC serves on the IAC Cardiac Electrophysiology Board of Directors as a Cardiology Member-at-Large. Dr. Beshai is currently a Senior Associate Consultant at the Mayo Clinic’s Division of Cardiovascular Diseases in Phoenix, Ariz. After earning his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, Dr. Beshai completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He then completed a fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at the New England Medical Center, Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston followed by a fellowship in cardiovascular medicine and clinical cardiac electrophysiology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia which he completed in 2003. Dr. Beshai has been an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine and an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. While at the University of Chicago, he also served as director of pacemaker and defibrillator services as well as program director for the clinical cardiac EP fellowship. He has authored numerous articles, book chapters and abstracts and is a member of multiple professional societies including the American Heart Association (AHA), American College of Cardiology (ACC) and Heart Rhythm Society (HRS). Dr. Beshai currently serves on the ACC EP Council and he is the editor for the Arrhythmias and Clinical EP clinical topic section on the ACC.org website.

Tom McElderry, Jr., MD, FACC, FHRS serves as President on the IAC Cardiac Electrophysiology Board of Directors as a Cardiology Member-at-Large.

Amy Leiserowitz, RN, CCDS, FHRS serves on the IAC Cardiac Electrophysiology Board of Directors as a Nursing Member-at-Large.

Geordie Baker, MHA, FHRS, FACVP serves as Secretary on the IAC Cardiac Electrophysiology Board of Directors as a Technologist Member-at-Large. Mr. Baker is currently an electrophysiology technologist at Overlake Medical Center in Bellevue, WA. Additionally, he serves as a guest lecturer at multiple universities. Mr. Baker received a Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion and Education from the University of Utah and earned his Master of Healthcare Administration – health care operations from Capella University. Mr. Baker is currently pursuing his Doctorate in Education at Capella University. Mr. Baker is a member of several professional organizations, including the Heart Rhythm Society (HRS) and Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) RCES Exam Committee. He holds the Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES), Certified EP Specialist (CEPS) and Washington Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (CVIS) credentials. With nearly two decades of experience in health care, Mr. Baker brings a unique perspective to the EP lab. He is passionate about education and training for the next generation of healthcare professionals and investigating best practices to obtain improved patient and health outcomes.

Mary Lally, MS, CAE is the Chief Executive Officer at the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC). Ms. Lally began her tenure with the IAC in 2007, serving as Director of Accreditation. In this role she has been instrumental in the development and oversight of the IAC’s MRI and CT diagnostic divisions as well as the Carotid Stenting, Cardiac Electrophysiology and Cardiovascular Catheterization therapeutic divisions. Ms. Lally has a unique combined background of clinical expertise and association management experience, possessing both a Master’s degree in Radiation Health Physics as well as the Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential. Before joining the IAC, Ms. Lally gained more than 20 years of clinical, operational and leadership experience, serving as the founding MRI program director at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. In addition, she developed and implemented radiology quality assurance programs with emphasis in the vascular surgery, interventional and cardiology departments at the University of Maryland Hospital. An ARRT-certified MRI Technologist, Ms. Lally is a passionate advocate for quality and safety in imaging.

Frank Vermeiren, MS, RT (R)(CV), RDCS is the Director of Accreditation for Cardiac Electrophysiology and Cardiovascular Catheterization at the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission. He joined the IAC as a Clinical Specialist in May 2012 and was named Director of Accreditation – Cardiac Electrophysiology in 2014 and Director of Accreditation – Cardiovascular Catheterization in 2016. He is also Director of Strategic Business Development for the IAC. Mr. Vermeiren’s experience includes over 40 years of diagnostic imaging and therapeutic procedures in both cardiology and radiology environments. He is board-certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiography and Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography, the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography in Pediatric and Adult Echocardiography and holds a Master’s Degree in Health Systems Management. He is a graduate of the Wesley Medical Center School of Radiologic Technology, the Johns Hopkins Program in Advanced Imaging and the Health Systems Management Program – College of Public Affairs at the University of Baltimore. He is an active member of the Heart Rhythm Society (HRS), the Pediatric and Congenital Electrophysiology Society (PACES), Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI), the Alliance of Cardiovascular Professionals (ACVP), the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT), the Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors (CRCPD), the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE), the Society of Pediatric Echocardiography (SOPE), and a founding member of the Pediatric and Congenital Interventional Cardiovascular Society (PICS Society Founding Member).
