Standards & Guidelines

The IAC Standards & Guidelines for Vein Center Accreditation: Superficial Venous Evaluation and Management are available below for download as a PDF. These accreditation Standards are the minimum standards for accreditation of a vein center, and represent the minimum requirements to which an accredited facility is held accountable. Applicant vein centers must reference the current published version of the Standards when applying for first-time accreditation or reaccreditation.

Standards that are highlighted are content changes that were made as part of the October 1, 2020 revision and effective immediately.

Facilities performing fluoroscopy must reference the IAC Standards for Vein Center Accreditation: Superficial Venous Evaluation and Management – Fluoroscopy.

For additional information regarding the IAC process of revising the Standards or 60-day public comment period, please review the IAC Accreditation Program Policies & Procedures, Section 1: Changes to the Standards.
