John Bertelson, MD serves on the IAC MRI Board of Directors as a representative of the American Academy of Neurology (AAN).

Hugo Botha, M.B., Ch.B. serves on the IAC MRI Board of Directors as a representative of the American Academy of Neurology (AAN). Dr. Botha is a consultant and assistant professor of neurology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester (MCR), MN. He has subspecialty training in behavioral neurology as well as quantitative neuroimaging. He is the director of the office of digital innovation in the Mayo Clinic Center for Clinical and Translational Science, as well as the associate director of the neurology artificial intelligence program. Dr. Botha also serves as the behavioral neurology fellowship director in MCR and the associate director of the research & education component in the Mayo Clinic Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center. Dr. Botha is funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to study Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias using multimodal imaging, including MRI. His particular interest is in using machine learning/artificial intelligence to detect and evaluate neurodegenerative diseases through advances neuroimaging and digital signals from patients.

​Alexandra Page, MD, FAAOS, FAOA​  serves on the IAC MRI Board of Directors as a representative of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS). She has served on the AAOS Board of Directors and chaired the Board of Specialty Societies. Dr. Page has held multiple other leadership roles including chairing the AAOS Health Care Systems Committee and as a delegate to the American Medical Association (AMA). She is a past-president of the California Orthopaedic Association. Locally, Dr. Page promotes equitable, musculoskeletal care through board leadership, teaching and direct provision of safety net orthopaedic care in San Diego. Currently she combines clinical orthopaedics with writing and editing for an orthopaedic news magazine. Following an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from M.I.T., Dr. Page graduated cum laude from Harvard Medical School. Her orthopaedic residency and Foot & Ankle fellowship were completed at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York.

Trevor Andrews, PhD, DABMP, MRSE serves as Officer-at-Large on the IAC MRI Board of Directors as a representative of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM). After receiving his PhD in Radiological Sciences at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio (UTHSCSA), Dr. Andrews joined the Vanderbilt University Institute of Imaging Science (VUIIS) as a research fellow. Following his postdoctoral fellowship, he worked for Philips Healthcare for almost a decade as a clinical scientist and a development lead. Dr. Andrews has published numerous peer-reviewed papers and is currently Assistant Professor of Radiology at the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. Dr. Andrews serves as chair of the AAPM’s Working Group on Magnetic Resonance Testing and Quality Assurance. He also serves on several national and international scientific and technical committees. He is certified by the American Board of Medical Physics (ABMP) in MRI and by the American Board of Magnetic Resonance Safety (AMRS) as a MR Safety Expert.

Patrick M. Capone, MD, PhD, FASN, FAAN serves on the IAC MRI Board of Directors representing the American Society of Neuroimaging (ASN). He brings more than 20 years of knowledge and experience in neurology to the position. Dr. Capone is currently a neurologist at the Winchester Medical Center where he serves as both the Director of Neuroimaging and the Director of the Winchester Neuroimaging Fellowship. He also works as an adjunct professor at the Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. Dr. Capone received his undergraduate degree from Marquette University in 1974 then went on to complete his master's degree in chemistry in 1980, his Ph.D. in molecular immunology in 1983, and his medical degree in 1987 from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Afterwards he completed his residency in neurology at the same institution and his fellowship in neuroimaging at the Dent Neurologic Institute. In the past, he has served on the boards of the Winchester Medical Center, the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties (UCNS) and ASN.

Michael Hutchinson, MD serves on the IAC MRI Board of Directors representing the American Society of Neuroimaging (ASN). Dr. Hutchinson serves as an Associate Clinical Professor of Neurology at the Icahn School of Medicine, Mount Sinai, in Manhattan. He is past president of ASN. He earned his medical degree from the University of Miami, PhD- to-MD Program in 1988, and a PhD in microwave studies of molecular strings (1977). He is the inventor of parallel MRI (1987), now the standard method for MRI scanning. He also holds patents for ULTRA, a way of doing 3-dimensional MRI in as little as 1 millisecond. This is currently being evaluated, and a device built, at Texas A&M University.

Denise Case, MSLM, RT(R)(M)(CT)(MR) serves as President-Elect on the IAC MRI Board of Directors as a representative of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT). Denise is currently the secretary for the Utah Society of Radiologic Technologists (USRT). She has also volunteered as a member for the ASRT MRI practice standards committee. She joins the IAC with an extensive history as a clinical and research MRI technologist. With a passion for the field and dedication to safe and effective practices, Denise has focused her attention on continuous improvement, both professionally and personally. In 2018, she earned her master’s in business administration shortly following her achievement of a master’s degree in science from Western Governors University in Salt Lake City, Utah. In 2013, she obtained her bachelor’s degree in radiation and imaging sciences from Bellevue College in Bellevue, Wash. Denise began her career in 2004 after graduating with an associates of applied science degree in radiology from Yakima Valley Community College in Yakima, Wash. Once she entered the field, she capitalized on many opportunities for career advancement by diligently working to obtain experience and certifications in multiple modalities. She is registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), and has clinical experience in general radiography, computed tomography, mammography and magnetic resonance imaging. She is an active member with the ASRT and its Utah State affiliate. She is also a member of the Society for MR Radiographers and Technologists (SMRT).

Amanda Garlock, DHA, RT(R)(MR), CRA serves on the IAC MRI Board of Directors as a representative of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT).

Matthew S. Tong, DO serves on the IAC MRI Board of Directors as a representative of the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (SCMR).

Subha Raman, MD serves on the IAC MRI Board of Directors as a representative of the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (SCMR), an international society that she has led as its President. Dr. Raman is a cardiologist dedicated to improving the lives of patients via clinical, investigative, educational and administrative efforts. She led the design of a cardiovascular-dedicated MR facility during the planning phases of OSU's Ross Heart Hospital and was one of the first CMR-dedicated labs in the country to secure and maintain IAC accreditation. In her present position at OhioHealth, she serves as Vice President for the heart and vascular service line and Chief Scientific Officer for a nationally recognized, statewide health system. Dr Raman completed medical training in cardiology and graduate studies in electrical engineering focused on artificial intelligence and computer vision at the Ohio State University where she served on the faculty as the Joseph M Ryan Chair. Over nearly 4 years at Indiana University and IU Health as the Medtronic-Zipes Chair, she built on her track record of developing clinical, educational, and research programs with regional, national, and global impact. Dr Raman is dedicated to improving both the health of populations as well as the lives of those who serve.

Mark D. Baganz, MD, FACR serves on the IAC MRI Board of Directors as a Radiologist Member-at-Large. Dr. Baganz is a corporate leader, board certified diagnostic radiologist and fellowship trained neuroradiologist. He received his medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, DC and went on to complete his radiology residency at the Medical Center of Delaware and his neuroradiology fellowship at the University of Maryland. Dr. Baganz is the founder and president of Chesapeake Medical Imaging, a subspecialty patient-centric diagnostic radiology practice with multiple locations in Maryland. He is also the co-founder and current advisory board member of Purview, a medical IT and telehealth company. Dr. Baganz is a lecturer on magnetic resonance imaging and neuroradiology as well as on topics related to effective service delivery strategies for medicine. Prior to his current positions, he served as an assistant professor of radiology and neurology at Howard University College of Medicine. Dr Baganz is an active member of numerous professional and philanthropic organizations. He is a senior member of the American Society of Neuroradiology (ASNR) and a fellow of the American College of Radiology (ACR). Dr. Baganz also currently serves on the Maryland State Board of Physicians and is a trustee of the Key School of Annapolis Maryland. He is the founder and current president of the Chesapeake Medical Foundation, a charitable organization working towards health care equity and improving access for underserved communities.

Guillermo Valenzuela, MD serves on the IAC MRI Board of Directors as a Rheumatology Member-at-Large. He is president of the Florida Society of Rheumatology and director of Integral Rheumatology & Immunology Specialists and IRIS Research and Development. Dr. Valenzuela’s clinical practice is based in South Florida at Integral Rheumatology & Immunology Specialists, and his research institute is based at IRIS Research and Development. He earned his medical degree, with honors, at the University of Buenos Aires in Argentina, and completed his internal medicine training at New York Medical College. He then completed his post-doctoral fellowship in Clinical Immunology, and fellowship in Rheumatology & Clinical Immunology at Cornell University Medical College in New York. Dr. Valenzuela is proud to not only provide advanced rheumatological and immunological care, but to conduct clinical trials on emerging therapies for rheumatic diseases, and also serve as a pioneer in developing new treatments and protocols for complex cases of rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, gout, carpal tunnel syndrome, osteoporosis, and other multiple autoimmune disorders. He has authored many scientific publications and is a national and international lecturer.

Sharath Subramanian, MD, FACC, FSCMR, FASE serves as Secretary on the IAC MRI Board of Directors as a Cardiology Member-at-Large.

Mary Lally, MS, CAE is the Chief Executive Officer at the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC). Ms. Lally began her tenure with the IAC in 2007, serving as Director of Accreditation. In this role she has been instrumental in the development and oversight of the IAC’s MRI and CT diagnostic divisions as well as the Carotid Stenting, Cardiac Electrophysiology and Cardiovascular Catheterization therapeutic divisions. Ms. Lally has a unique combined background of clinical expertise and association management experience, possessing both a Master’s degree in Radiation Health Physics as well as the Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential. Before joining the IAC, Ms. Lally gained more than 20 years of clinical, operational and leadership experience, serving as the founding MRI program director at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. In addition, she developed and implemented radiology quality assurance programs with emphasis in the vascular surgery, interventional and cardiology departments at the University of Maryland Hospital. An ARRT-certified MRI Technologist, Ms. Lally is a passionate advocate for quality and safety in imaging.

Darlene K. Humphreys, RT(R)(M)(MR)(CT) is the Director of Accreditation for IAC MRI. Mrs. Humphreys began her career at Northern Columbiana County School of Radiologic Technology Ohio in 1980. Following her first job in a physician’s office, she began working at a hospital where she was introduced to CT. That was followed by a multi-modality freestanding imaging center which is where she began working with MRI, in addition to all the rest of imaging modalities. She began managing the imaging center and she was eventually named Chief Technologist. Next, she obtained a position working with Franklin & Seidelmann, a teleradiology group in Northeast Ohio, where she served as a “liasion” between the onsite technologists and off-site radiologists. She eventually focused her primary goals toward the company’s peer review program and accreditation needs for the clients. Since 2009, she had been working with IAC as an MRI/CT specialist reviewer and began working with IAC full time in June 2021.
