Cathy A. Sila, MD serves on the IAC Carotid Stenting Board of Directors as a representative of the American Academy of Neurology (AAN).

O.O. Zaidat, MD, MS serves on the IAC Carotid Stenting Board of Directors as a representative of the American Academy of Neurology (AAN). Currently, Dr. Zaidat is the Director of the Neurointerventional Program as well as a Professor of Neurology, Cardiology, Radiology and Neurosurgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wis. Dr. Zaidat received his medical degree from Jordan University Medical School in Amman, Jordan. He did his residency in Neurology at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland with Fellowship training in Neurocritical Care and Vascular Neurology. He subsequently did fellowship training in Neurointerventional Procedures at Duke University in Durham, N.C. His career has focused on clinical research in neurovascular diseases and acute stroke therapy with systemic thrombolytics and endovascular approaches. An accomplished author, Dr. Zaidat has published more than 95 articles, book and book chapters focusing mainly on neurovascular diseases and stroke acute therapy. In addition to AAN, Dr. Zaidat is also a member of several other professional societies including the American Stroke Association (ASA), the Society of Neurointerventional Surgery (SNIS), Society of Vascular and Interventional Neurology (SVIN) and Neurocritical Care Society (NCS).

Kevin Cockroft, MD, MSc serves on the IAC Carotid Stenting Board of Directors as a representative of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) / Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS) Cerebrovascular Section. Currently, Dr. Cockroft is Director of Cerebrovascular and Endovascular Neurosurgery in the Department of Neurosurgery at the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine. He is also Co-Director of the Penn State Hershey Stroke Center and Director of the Neurosurgery Department’s Neuroendovascular Fellowship Training Program. Dr. Cockroft holds the academic rank of Professor with joint appointments in Neurosurgery, Radiology and Public Health Sciences. Dr. Cockroft received his undergraduate education at Johns Hopkins University and his medical degree from Cornell University. He did his residency training at The New York Presbyterian Hospital-Cornell Medical Center and completed his fellowship training in Neurovascular Microsurgery at Stanford University in Stanford, Calif. and Endovascular Neurosurgery (Interventional Neuroradiology) at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. Dr. Cockroft’s clinical practice focuses on the treatment of brain aneurysms and subarachnoid hemorrhage, as well as arteriovenous malformations of the central nervous system and occlusive cerebrovascular disease. Dr. Cockroft is an author and co-author of numerous scholarly publications and he has been the principal investigator on several cerebrovascular disease clinical trials. In addition to AANS and CNS, Dr. Cockroft is a member of other professional societies including the American College of Surgeons (ACS), American Heart Association (AHA) and American Stroke Association (ASA). Dr. Cockroft has had the honor of being included in Who’s Who in America and he has been listed in the Consumers’ Research Council of America’s Guide to America’s Top Physicians as well as Best Doctors Incorporated’s The Best Doctors in America.

Aman Patel, MD serves on the IAC Carotid Stenting Board of Directors as a representative of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) / Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS) Cerebrovascular Section. Upon graduating magna cum laude from the University of California, Riverside, Dr. Patel completed his internship, residency and fellowship at the University of California, Los Angeles. He is currently the Robert G. and Jean A. Ojemann Associate Professor of Neurosurgery and Associate Professor of Radiology and Neurology at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Patel also serves as Director of the Neuroendovascular Program and Cerebrovascular/Endovascular Neurosurgery at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA. His clinical interests include cerebrovascular and endovascular neurosurgery with a focus on the treatment of cerebral aneurysms, vascular malformations and stroke. Dr. Patel leads a multi-disciplinary group of neurosurgeons, radiologists and neurologists with a focus on the care of patients with cerebrovascular disease across the specialties of neurosurgery, radiology and neurology. He is involved in multiple studies that investigate treatments related to ischemic stroke stroke, new devices and new techniques, aneurysm flow dynamics and markers related to higher aneurysm risk, hemorrhagic. An accomplished speaker, Dr. Patel has lectured extensively, nationally and internationally, and has published many reviews, book chapters, monographs and editorials. In addition to AANS and CNS, Dr. Patel is a member of other professional societies including the Society of Neurological Surgeons (SNS), the American Heart Association (AHA), and the Neurological Society of America (NSA).

Kevin Wunderle, PhD, DABR serves on the IAC Carotid Stenting Board of Directors as a representative of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM). Dr. Wunderle is a diagnostic medical physicist at the Cleveland Clinic where he specializes in interventional fluoroscopic imaging and radiation dosimetry. He serves on various committees within the AAPM where he chairs the Radiography and Fluoroscopy Sub-committee. He also serves the U.S. National Committee as a member of two standards maintenance teams for the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).

Guilherme Dabus, MD, FAHA serves on the IAC Carotid Stenting Board of Directors as a representative of the American Society of Neuroradiology (ASNR). Dr. Guilherme Dabus is an interventional neuroradiologist member of Miami Vascular Specialists. He is the Director of the Fellowship Program in Interventional Neuroradiology/Neuroendovascular Surgery at the Miami Cardiac and Vascular Institute and Baptist Neuroscience Center and also serves as Clinical Professor at the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine of Florida International University. Before joining Baptist Health, he served as Assistant Professor of Radiology and Neurological Surgery at Feinberg School of Medicine of Northwestern University and as the Assistant Director of the Northwestern Neuroendovascular Program and Director of Neuroangiography at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Dr. Dabus is a native of Brazil. He earned his medical degree from the Santos School of Medical Sciences – FCMS followed by Radiology residency at the State University of Campinas – UNICAMP. He subsequently completed a Neuroradiology fellowship at Northwestern University in Chicago, followed by Interventional Neuroradiology/Neurointerventional Surgery fellowships at Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology - Washington University in St. Louis and at Massachusetts General Hospital – Harvard Medical School in Boston from 2004 to 2008. He has more than 100 publications including peer-reviewed manuscripts, invited review articles and book chapters. He was the guest editor for the Techniques in Vascular and Interventional Radiology Acute Ischemic Stroke Edition (Volume 15, Issue 1, March 2012), for the American Journal of Neuroradiology Special Collection: Vascular Lesions of the Head and Neck: Diagnosis and Intervention (October 2012) , and for the Endovascular Today: Next Horizons in Neurointervention (February 2019). Dr. Dabus is an expert in the treatment of brain aneurysms, stroke and vascular malformations. Dr. Dabus is an active lecturer in national and international meetings and conferences and serves as a reviewer for several scientific journals including Stroke, European Journal of Neurology, Clinical Neurology and Neurosurgery, Neurosurgery, Journal of Neuroimaging, Journal of Endovascular Therapy, Journal of Stroke & Cerebrovascular Diseases, Interventional Neuroradiology, JAMA, World Neurosurgery and Journal of NeuroInterventional Surgery. Dr. Dabus is board-certified in radiology with certification of added qualification in neuroradiology. He was one of the first physicians to receive the Subspecialty Certification in Neuroendovascular Surgery from The Society of Neurological Surgeons (SNIS) – Committee on Advanced Subspecialty Training. He is a senior member of the SNIS and an active member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) /Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS) Cerebrovascular Section. He was awarded the title of Fellow of the American Heart Association – Stroke Council (F.A.H.A) due to his leadership and contribution to the field. He is also a member of the following professional organizations: European Society of Minimally Invasive Neurological Therapy (ESMINT), World Federation of Interventional and Therapeutic Neuroradiology (WFITN), Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), American College of Radiology (ACR) and AHA Stroke Council. Dr. Dabus is currently a member of the SNIS Board of Directors and he is also a member of the Interventional Management Committee for the CREST-2 Trial.

John B. Terry, MD serves on the IAC Carotid Stenting Board of Directors as a representative of the Neurocritical Care Society (NCS).

J. Michael Bacharach, MD, MPH, FACC, FSCAI serves on the IAC Carotid Stenting Board of Directors as a representative of the Society for Vascular Medicine (SVM). Currently, Dr. Bacharach is Section Head in Vascular Medicine and Peripheral Vascular Intervention at the North Central Heart Institute in Sioux Falls, S.D. He earned his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wis. and did his residency and Cardiology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. He completed his fellowship in Vascular Medicine and Peripheral Vascular Intervention at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland. An educator and mentor, Dr. Bacharach is also a Clinical Professor of Internal Medicine in the Division of Cardiology at Sanford School of Medicine at the University of South Dakota. He is also an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. Dr. Bacharach serves as the primary investigator in multiple peripheral vascular drug and device studies and has earned national and international recognition for his lectures and expertise in vascular medicine and peripheral vascular intervention. In addition to SVM, Dr. Bacharach is also a member of the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI).

Jeffrey Jim, MD, MPHS, FACS serves on the IAC Carotid Stenting Board of Directors as a representative of the Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS).

Jon S. Matsumura, MD serves on the IAC Carotid Stenting Board of Directors as a representative of the Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS). Dr. Matsumura is a practicing vascular surgeon and the Chair of the Division of Vascular Surgery at University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. He is board certified in Surgery with added qualifications in Vascular Surgery. His clinical interests are centered on endovascular treatment of all aspects of peripheral vascular disease, including carotid stenosis, thoracic aortic disease, lower extremity ischemia, deep venous thrombosis and abdominal aortic aneurysm. Dr. Matsumura’s research interests are concentrated on clinical trials of medical treatment and endovascular treatment of carotid stenosis and aortic aneurysm. He is involved regularly in the educational curriculum of medical students, residents and fellows, but also frequently participates in continuing medical education of physicians in practice in many specialties. He organizes several educational programs each year and has been involved in the endovascular training of physicians from more than a hundred hospitals around the world. He has published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles, 40 chapters and 10 books. Dr. Matsumura also enjoys fishing.

Barry Katzen, MD serves on the IAC Carotid Stenting Board of Directors as a representative of the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR).

Ricardo A. Hanel, MD, PhD serves on the IAC Carotid Stenting Board of Directors as a representative of the Society of Neurointerventional Surgery (SNIS).

Alex Chebl, MD serves on the IAC Carotid Stenting Board of Directors as a representative of the Society of Vascular and Interventional Neurology (SVIN). Currently, Dr. Abou-Chebl is the Director of Neurointerventional Services, Associate Professor of Neurology and the Director of Vascular and Interventional Neurology Fellowships in the Department of Neurology at the University of Louisville School of Medicine in Louisville, Ky. He earned his BS degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich., prior to earning his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland. He has completed three fellowships including Stroke, Neurological Critical Care and Neurointerventional and was one of the first interventional neurologists in the world. He has lectured extensively and authored numerous articles, abstracts, reviews, books and book chapters. An accomplished author and reviewer, Dr. Abou-Chebl sits on the editorial boards of the journals Stroke and Frontiers in Interventional Neurology and is a reviewer for many publications including Neurology, Journal of Neuroimaging, the European Journal of Neurology, the Journal of Neurocritical Care and Neurosurgery. He is involved in several professional boards and committees including the Steering Committee for CARE Carotid Stenting Registry. In addition to being a founding Board member and first Vice-president of SVIN, Dr. Abou-Chebl is a member of the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) and the Stroke Council of the American Stroke Association (ASA).

Mary Lally, MS, CAE is the Chief Executive Officer at the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC). Ms. Lally began her tenure with the IAC in 2007, serving as Director of Accreditation. In this role she has been instrumental in the development and oversight of the IAC’s MRI and CT diagnostic divisions as well as the Carotid Stenting, Cardiac Electrophysiology and Cardiovascular Catheterization therapeutic divisions. Ms. Lally has a unique combined background of clinical expertise and association management experience, possessing both a Master’s degree in Radiation Health Physics as well as the Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential. Before joining the IAC, Ms. Lally gained more than 20 years of clinical, operational and leadership experience, serving as the founding MRI program director at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. In addition, she developed and implemented radiology quality assurance programs with emphasis in the vascular surgery, interventional and cardiology departments at the University of Maryland Hospital. An ARRT-certified MRI Technologist, Ms. Lally is a passionate advocate for quality and safety in imaging.

Laura Humphries, BS, RVT, RPhS joined the IAC in December 2013 and serves as the Director of Accreditation for IAC Vascular Interventional and Carotid Stenting. Her experience includes more than 20 years in the field of peripheral vascular ultrasound. Mrs. Humphries earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Oregon Institute of Technology in Klamath Falls, WA. She is credentialed by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in Vascular Technology and by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) as a Registered Phlebology Sonographer. She is an active member of the ARDMS, Society of Vascular Ultrasound (SVU) and CCI.
