In this webinar, we will review the long journey that led to the recommendation for updated diagnostic criteria for carotid artery stenosis to be incorporated into IAC accredited labs. Rationale for standardization, research that led to the updated diagnostic criteria, and current IAC recommendations will be reviewed. Lessons learned from labs that have incorporated these criteria will be shared. There will be ample time for Q&A with Marge Hutchisson, BS, RVT, RDCS, RPhS, Director of Accreditation – Vascular Testing and Dr. Heather Gornik, MD, RVT, RPVI, past IAC Vascular Testing President and Chair of the IAC Carotid Diagnostic Criteria Committee.
This webinar is designed to:
- Review recommended diagnostic criteria for carotid artery stenosis recommended by IAC
- Teach the rationale for developing and supporting these criteria
- Examine the science behind the IAC carotid stenosis criteria recommendation.
- Discuss the implementation of a new criteria in your lab and lessons learned from prior labs
