Tanya K. Tolpegin, MBA, CAE Appointed As New CEO of Intersocietal Accreditation Commission

The Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) announces the appointment of Tanya K. Tolpegin, MBA, CAE as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective November 6, 2025. Tolpegin succeeds Mary Lally, MS, CAE who is retiring after a tenure with IAC since 2007, including serving as CEO since 2016. Lally, a passionate advocate for quality and safety in imaging, made significant contributions to the organization as the second CEO in IAC’s history.

Tolpegin brings more than two decades of leadership experience with nonprofit medical organizations, including her role as the CEO of the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography, a sponsoring organization of the IAC. She is poised to guide the IAC into its next chapter of innovation and growth.

“Through the dedicated efforts of our search committee, we conducted an extensive selection process and are confident that Tanya will be instrumental in advancing IAC’s mission of improving health care through accreditation,” said Alexandra Page, MD, FAAOS, FAOA, Chair of the IAC Board of Directors. “Her extensive experience and commitment to excellence will be key as we continue to serve our multi-specialty stakeholders — the very foundation upon which IAC was originally established in 1991. Together, we look forward to a future of innovation and collaboration under Tanya’s leadership.”

In her new role, Tolpegin aims to strengthen IAC’s commitment to promoting quality and safety in health care and expand its reach. Her extensive background in health care will be invaluable as the IAC embarks on its 35th year of offering quality solutions that lead to improved patient outcomes, across eight medical specialties. “I am deeply honored to join IAC at such a pivotal time,” said Tolpegin. “I look forward to working alongside our leadership, sponsoring organizations and accredited facilities to deliver quality that patients can trust in diagnostic imaging, therapeutic and interventional procedures.”

A Certified Association Executive (CAE), Tolpegin received her Master of Business Administration from the University of Virginia, Darden Graduate School of Business Administration and her bachelor’s degree in systems engineering from the University of Virginia. She is known for her collaborative leadership style and skills in strategy and execution; with the ability to foster a culture of innovation.
