As outlined in the IAC Standards and Guidelines for Nuclear/PET Accreditation, part of the criteria
for achieving nuclear cardiology, nuclear medicine and/or PET-related accreditation is the fulfillment of
certain Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements by facility
staff members.
NUCLEAR/PET CE/CME REQUIREMENTS
In an effort to help facilities determine whether or not a course is relevant to nuclear medicine, the CME committee of the Board of Directors has developed a CME Predetermination List by reviewing more than 60 CE programs and courses to conclude the relevance that each lecture has to nuclear medicine. The list is updated frequently.
Facilities are encouraged to review this list prior to completion of the CE/CME sections within the application, particularly if they question the relevance of a particular course. For review of a particular course not listed on the predetermination list, please submit the course brochure to the IAC at nuclear@intersocietal.org, and the CME committee will provide an assessment regarding the relevance of the credits offered.
As a service to nuclear medicine professionals looking for conferences offering nuclear cardiology, nuclear medicine and/or PET-related CME courses, the IAC maintains the following list of resources for continuing education. The IAC does not endorse nor guarantee the content and relevance to nuclear cardiology, nuclear medicine and/or PET-related in meeting the CME requirements.
