Echocardiography Accreditation Milestone Program

In celebration of its 25-year anniversary of granting accreditation to echocardiography facilities, IAC launched an accreditation milestone recognition program for facilities achieving a long-time commitment to quality patient care. More than 5,000 sites across the U.S. and Canada are currently accredited in Adult or Pediatric Echocardiography accreditation. A select group of facilities have demonstrated a long-term commitment to quality through IAC Echocardiography, earning continuous accreditation for 10, 20 or 25 years.

2026 Accreditation Milestone Recipients

Qualifying facilities have maintained accreditation for 20 (Bronze) or 25 (Silver) consecutive years as of 2026 or achieved the minimum amount of accreditation cycles in that time period deemed appropriate by IAC to qualify for this recognition. Once awarded, facilities are required to maintain accreditation continuously to continue their milestone status. This listing is reviewed and updated regularly (last reviewed 7/2026) and subject to change.

Background

In 1997, the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories (ICAEL) was incorporated as a nonprofit organization, with the goal of providing the field of echocardiography an independent, objective evaluation for process improvement. The purpose was to help facilities standardize their processes to provide better patient care and improved outcomes.

All stakeholders with an interest in ensuring quality imaging studies and patient safety – including clinicians, the related medical societies who serve as sponsoring organizations and insurers – had confidence that participation in the accreditation process would lead to better patient care.

The recognized group of facilities make up a truly remarkable group of facilities dedicated to quality patient care!
