Applicant facilities must reference the current published version of the Standards below when applying for first-time accreditation or reaccreditation.
IAC Standards & Guidelines for Vascular Testing Accreditation
(published February 15, 2024)
Standards that are highlighted are content changes that were made as part of the February 15, 2024 revision. These Standards become effective on August 15, 2024. Facilities applying for accreditation after August 15, 2024 must comply with these new highlighted Standards.
Guidelines are descriptions, examples or recommendations that elaborate on Standards, however, guidelines are not requirements. Guidelines can assist with interpretation of the Standards. Standards are in regular typeface in outline form, but guidelines are in italic typeface and in narrative form.
New or Emerging Technologies, Protocols and Other Novel Imaging or Interventional Approaches
New or emerging technologies, protocols and other novel imaging or interventional approaches not included in guidelines published by professional societies must have supporting documentation that demonstrates adherence to manufacturer’s training, safety specifications and quality control specifications as applicable.
Facilities are encouraged to contact the IAC for guidance related to utilization of new technology not currently addressed in the IAC Standards.
